Match Report: Valencia CF beat UD Logroñés in Copa del Rey opener (0-2)
Valencia CF travelled up north to La Rioja to face UD Logroñés on Thursday, November 2nd at 8 pm kick-off time at the Estadio Municipal Las Gaunas for their Copa del Rey opener.
Valencia CF were quick off the blocks and the first chance fell to Hugo González whose effort was turned behind for Álex Daza.
Minutes, later, Roman Yaremchuk thought to have scored but his goal was ruled out for handball against Selim Amallah in the buildup.
The game saw a sloppy spell with a few stoppages over the half-hour mark as Valencia CF. Sergi Canós rattled the post following a fine Amallah ball.
Pablo Gozálbez ‘Gozi pounced on a pin-ball situation inside the 18 yard box. The youngster collected the rebound and sliced the ball home past Álex Daza to open the scoring deep into stoppage time.

Valencia CF came out to the second half looking to double their arrears and shortly after, substitute Fran Pérez rattled the upright following a promising two-on-one situation under the hour mark.
Valencia CF withstood a few chances from the opposition in the next few minutes with Valencia CF looking content to sit back and slow down play.
Diego López rounded off the scoreline in the closing minutes of the second half after capitalising on a Javi Guerra chance whose effort came back off the woodwork and Pablo Gonzálbez slickly rolled the ball into Diego López who slotted the ball home past Álex Daza.
Valencia eased past UD Logroñés by a 0-2 scoreline as they go through to the next round of the Copa del Rey.
Valencia CF will be back in LaLiga action against Granada CF on Sunday, November 5th at 4:15 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 12 of LaLiga EA Sports.
